[Accra, Ghana- December 20, 2019 ] The 2nd annual Ghana Tech Summit successfully hosted 100 global speakers and 2000 participants on December 13, 2019. The summit was sponsored and free to attend, which made it accessible to young entrepreneurs.

With high unemployment spreading across Africa, the summit organizers made a bold choice to host the program at the YMCA (the iconic platform that has empowered the youth in Ghana for over 55 years). The program hosted free career development and business bootcamp sessions from Linkedin, SAP, Forbes, Github, Digital Ocean and 100+ speakers. The future of Africa is promising but with riots erupting in cities across the continent, many stakeholders are calling for a platform that can train and prepare the youth population of Africa for the future. As a sponsored program of the Africa Future Fund and one of the countries selected for the 2019 iconic Africa future Summit Tour to 10 countries, Ghana Tech Summit came with a committed ecosystem of support to empower youth entrepreneurs across the country with its line up of world class speakers and global partners.

Ghana Tech Summit launched last year in 2018 at the Accra Conference Center as West Africa’s largest tech summit, trending #2 on twitter, with 100 speakers and 1000 attendees. At the time, the initiative was announced as a 12 year initiative that will be hosted every year from 2018-2030 to reposition Ghana as a global tech hub of the future. Managing partner of the Africa Future Fund, Einstein Kofi Ntim, stressed that with recent headlines showcasing Ghana as the fastest growing economy in Africa, the launch of Google Ai Lab, and the opening of Ghana’s first Diaspora office- the Ghana Tech Summit can not only serve as an annual event series alone but as a stable, consistent and highly regarded platform for tech and economic development in the region.

We made a bold choice to host the program at the YMCA (the iconic platform that has empowered the youth in Ghana for over 55 years). And it was not an easy choice to make. Yet the impact was felt, when attendees arrived and were shocked to see the YMCA completely transformed.
